The movie “The Blind Side,” based on the book by Michael Lewis, took in an amazing $34.5 million in its opening weekend at theaters. The movie tells the story of Baltimore Ravens’ first round pick Michael Oher. A homeless teenager, Oher was adopted by the Tuohy family in Memphis, Tennessee. Sandra Bullock plays the Leigh Anne Tuohy role, and this movie opened stronger than any other Bullock release. It’s also receiving strong votes from most critics.

But where does it stack up related to other inspirational sports movies? Please comment below and let us know if you think it cracks our list of top inspirational sports movies. Where should it be on the list? Or, should it be on it at all?

Top 20 inspirational sports movie ever? Not a chance. I could list another 20 movies that I’d put ahead of it. Sandra Bullock was not believable in the Mrs. Tuohy role and overall it seemed contrived. The film makers took a good story and ruined it.

My husband and I saw the movie this weekend with our two children (ages 11 and 14). Across the board, everyone loved The Blind Side. For me, it breaks the Top 10 of sports movies. I’d put it at #5 ahead of Rocky.

Several of us went on New Years Eve to see Blind Side. Hands down it is definitely the best movie we have seen in a long time. Well done. Please give us more inspirational family movies show casing the GOOD in people.
I rate it number one on the list!
    Thanks
