High School Hockey: Goal of the Year

Scoring the game winning goal in an overtime hockey game is a big deal. When it also gives your team a chance to go to the Minnesota State High School Tournament, it’s a bigger deal. And, when you score it with style and flair, well, it’s enough to call it the high school hockey goal of the year!

The old Spin-o-rama Move

Stillwater’s Noah Cates executed the old “spin-o-rama move” to score and help his Ponies team beat Hill-Murray by a score of 1-0. The two teams battled to a scoreless gridlock in regulation before Cates’ amazing goal.

Some 3,500 fans were on hand to watch the game. This will be Stillwater second appearance in the State Tournament. Needless to say, they’ll go in with some momentum after this big win.
