Congratulations to all of the inductees.”

Team Names
The rich history of calling your team by a creative name goes way back in fantasy football. Here are the ones that have stood out from the crowd.
1.) Stairway to Evans
Led Zeppelin’s most popular song, “Stairway to Heaven,” and Buccaneers’ wide receiver Mike Evans was a match made in, well, heaven.
2.) No Suh For You!
In the popular TV show Seinfeld, George has the audacity to ask for his order of bread from the Soup Nazi. The Soup Nazi barks, “No soup for you!” and George doesn’t get his soup.
This popular phrase took on a life of its own. It was a natural fit for Ndamukong Suh, the star football tackle who has played in three Super Bowls with three different teams.
3.) The Big Gronkowski
If there is one player who was a perfect fit to be named after “The Dude,” it’s Rob Gronkowski. The Big Lebowski is a popular crime comedy that was released in 1998 and directed by the Coen Brothers.
Matching a cult-favorite movie with a fan-favorite player works exceptionally well.
4.) Super Mariota Bros.
Many football fans learned more about Marcus Mariota by watching Netflix’s excellent Quarterback series. Mariota, Patrick Mahomes, and Kirk Cousins were the three QBs featured in this behind-the-scenes look at playing the NFL’s toughest position.
Linking Marcus’s surname with the popular video game/movie series is a great fit.
5.) My Favorite Marshawn
My Favorite Martian was a popular TV series in the 1960s starring Bill Bixby and Ray Walson. Walston played “Uncle Martin,” a martian. While Marshawn Lynch has always called planet Earth home, he does have some out-of-this-world qualities.
Powered by Skittles, Marshawn earned the nickname “Beast Mode” for his tough-to-tackle approach to running the football.
6.) Golden Tate Warriors
Golden Tate played in the NFL for the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants. Linking him to Steph Curry’s basketball team, the Golden State Warriors, works remarkably well.
7.) The Blair Walsh Project
Fantasy football names for kickers never seem to be too popular. However, linking Vikings’ placekicker Blair Walsh to the horror film Blair Witch works exceedingly well.
8.) Von Miller High Life
It takes a special defensive player to even merit receiving a fantasy football name. Von Miller is that guy. A linebacker with a 4.49 40-yard dash time can present problems for defenses. Von Miller does. Linking this star football player to the popular beer was a natural.
9.) Dude, Where’s Derek Carr?
Dude, Where’s My Car? Is a 2000 comedy with a very distinctive title. Derek Carr was playing QB for the Oakland Raiders at the time this name was introduced.
10.) Eat, Drink, and D. Murray
In 2014, DeMarco Murray was a fantasy football superstar. He led the NFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.
A play on the expression, “Eat, Drink, and Be Merry,” this is the second time a DeMarco Murray fantasy name has made it to the Hall of Fame. The first is DeMarco Polo.

The HOF also recognized best league names through the years.
11.) Natural Born Thrillers
A play on words inspired by the movie Natural Born Killers.
12.) Password is Taco
“Password is Taco” is the fantasy football team name for the character Taco in the TV show “The League.” Taco isn’t really interested in winning the league. He names his team after his actual password for his fantasy league’s website.

13.) Say My Namath
Would a football Hall of Fame be complete without a reference to Joe “Willie White Shoes”?
14.) Discount Belichick
A State Farm Insurance ad campaign – with frequent commercials played during NFL games – featured a “Discount Double Check.” Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s name was a great fit.
