Our Best Ted Lasso Moments video tribute will have you craving more appearances by the ultimate fish out of the water, Coach Ted Lasso.
By this point, you know that Ted puts people above wins and makes up for his lack of futbol know-how with his folksy charm, people skills, optimism, and biscuits for the boss. Lasso is a successful coach, a strong mentor, and a kind friend.
The endearing Ted Lasso, brilliantly played by Jason Sudeikis, shows up in West London under false pretenses. Hired as a football coach for the UK team AFC Richmond, Lasso’s only coaching experience is in American football.
Rebecca, the owner, initially hopes he flops but comes around after understanding the coach’s good-hearted nature. It doesn’t take him long to win over the hearts of the players and fans, either.
The show has enjoyed two stellar seasons on AppleTV. The third season will likely be released in the summer of 2022. Until then, please enjoy these Top Ten Best Ted Lasso Moments.
Funny Ted Lasso Moments
Where to begin with so many heartwarming and funny Ted Lasso scenes to choose from? Let’s start with a local newspaper’s take on Ted.
1.) “I Can’t Help But Root For Him”
Trent Crimm is a sports journalist working for The Independent. When Ted Lasso was first named coach, Crimm put him through the third degree in press conferences exposing Lasso’s lack of soccer knowledge. Assigned to complete a profile on Lasso for his paper, Crimm went from skeptic to somewhat fan of Lasso.
While acknowledging Lasso would likely fail, Crimm importantly notes that “I can’t help but root for him” in this touching scene.

2.) Roy Kent’s Niece is in Trouble at School
Roy Kent’s niece is in big trouble with her teacher. It seems she has picked up on her Uncle Roy’s swearing habit. In this funny Ted Lasso scene, it’s easy to see how Phoebe has come to learn her not-suitable-for-school vocabulary.

3.) Ted Lasso’s Tries Indian Food
Ted’s genuine love of people and how well he treats everyone is fully displayed in this clip where The Independent’s Trent Crimm is interviewing him. But, his heartwarming gesture to his friend, Ali, has severe repercussions for his digestive system.
My favorite part of this encounter is that after the introductions are made, Ted says, “Congratulations, you’ve just met a cool person.”

4.) Roy’s Return
In addition to his colorful language, Roy Kent is known for his rough-around-the-edges and abrupt interactions with folks. In this Ted Lasso clip, the former player has just accepted a coaching role with Ted.

5.) Coach Beard and Lasso Dialogue
Although Coach Beard coached alongside Coach Lasso for the Wichita State Shockers, he seems to know a little more about the Brits’ way of doing things than Ted. In this Ted Lasso moment, Coach Beard reviews with Coach Lasso some of the nuances of speaking English in the land where it was created. The transatlantic culture clash is a reoccurring theme in the show.
Coach Beard, while somewhat stoic, has a quiet confidence that pairs well with Lasso’s upbeat optimism. They’re usually on the same page when they converse or make eye contact.

6.) Ted Hustles Rebecca’s Ex in a Game of Darts
In Season 1, Rupert, who is Rebecca’s ex, disrespects her in a pub. Ted calmy comes to the rescue and challenges Rupert to a game of darts. The stakes are set: If Rupert wins, he can name the starting line-up for the remaining two games. If Lasso wins, Rupert must refrain from visiting the owner’s box.
Lasso’s early attempts at darts that night suggest he’s not very good at it. But then, Ted says, “Oh wait, I forgot I’m left-handed,” and proceeds to score a bullseye. Ted goes on to beat Rupert but, along the way, delivers a memorable speech on being curious and accepting people. Well done, Ted!

7.) I Hope You Dance — Ted Lasso Breaks Out His Dance Moves
When an American college football team upsets a heavily favored opponent, you can usually count on video footage hitting YouTube of the winning coach busting a few moves. This trend didn’t escape Ted Lasso when he coached for the Wichita State Shockers. Here’s some footage of Ted’s victory dance.
8.) Ted Lasso’s Rick Roll — Ted Lasso Moments
When Rick Asley performed “Never Gonna Give You Up,” you have to wonder if he ever thought it would make a tribute speech at a funeral. I’m guessing not. Rebecca, the owner of AFC Richmond, pays tribute to her father at his funeral by using the song’s words. The tribute starts slowly, but the audience joins in when Ted joins the chorus.
Would it be a British comedy without an excellent song to sing along to?

This video isn’t from the show itself but instead used by NBC to promote its coverage of the Premier League. Nevertheless, it does an excellent job of showing the humor of this cast of characters. And the big star is Ted Lasso!

Final Thoughts
A fourth season for the Ted Lasso show isn’t out of the question. Like a sports coach in the real world, Jason Sudeikis notes in a Bazaar interview, “We got to take it one game at a time.”
