2026 Enshrinees: Fantasy Football Team Names Hall of Fame

August 26, 2026

Cue the dramatic music. Polish the bronze busts. Alert the concession stands. The Fantasy Football Team Names Hall of Fame is ready to welcome its Class of 2026, a collection of names that have distinguished themselves through excellence in wordplay, sustained contributions to group-chat trash talk, and an uncanny ability to make grown adults laugh at puns they probably should have outgrown years ago.

Since opening its imaginary doors in 2021, the Hall has celebrated the best names fantasy football has given us. Previous classes have included such legends as Favre Dollar Foot Long, Somewhere Over Dwayne Bowe, Flacco Seagulls, Run CMC, Hot Chubb Time Machine, and The Big Gronkowski.

Like the Pro Football Hall of Fame, getting into this Hall should mean something. Longevity matters. Originality matters. Cultural impact matters. And, unlike Canton, the ability to make someone spit out a mouthful of beer at a fantasy draft is considered a legitimate qualification.

After exhaustive deliberations by the Selection Committee — along with several unnecessary recounts and at least one accusation of collusion — the votes are in.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Fantasy Football Team Names Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

The Class of 2026 Team Names

We’re proud to present the Class of 2026. Leading the way are Rollin’ With Mahomies, Who Framed Rodgers Rabbit, Baby Got Dak, and Saving Matt Ryan.

Rollin’ With Mahomies

Patrick Mahomes has thrown no-look passes, won MVP awards and collected championships. But perhaps his greatest contribution to civilization is giving fantasy managers the word “Mahomies.”

Rollin’ With Mahomies takes the familiar expression “rolling with my homies” and makes a substitution so natural that it barely feels like a pun. It’s funny, instantly recognizable, and has remained popular throughout the Mahomes era.

That’s a first-ballot résumé if we’ve ever seen one.

Welcome to the Hall, Mahomies.

Kamarican Pie

Take New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara, mix in one of the most famous comedy movie titles of the past quarter-century, and you have Kamarican Pie.

What makes the name work is the sound. Say “Kamarican Pie” quickly and “American Pie” immediately pops into your head. That’s the sweet spot for a great fantasy name: you shouldn’t need three paragraphs and a PowerPoint presentation to explain the joke.

Kamara has produced plenty of touchdowns during his career. Kamarican Pie may be his finest contribution to fantasy team-naming history.

Gurley Men

Todd Gurley’s NFL career was relatively short, but his fantasy football peak was spectacular. During his prime with the Rams, Gurley was the kind of running back who could practically win a fantasy matchup by himself.

His last name also provided fantasy managers with an irresistible opening.

Gurley Men is a play on “girly men,” a phrase famously associated with Saturday Night Live’s Hans and Franz characters and later Arnold Schwarzenegger. It’s short, silly and impossible to forget.

The best proof of its Hall of Fame credentials? Gurley hasn’t played an NFL game since 2020, yet the name still gets laughs.

That’s staying power.

Who Framed Rodgers Rabbit?

Aaron Rodgers has inspired enough fantasy football team names to fill his own wing of the Hall.

Who Framed Rodgers Rabbit? may be the cleverest.

The name transforms the 1988 movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit into a tribute to Rodgers by adding just one letter. It is precisely the kind of wordplay the Selection Committee appreciates: clever without trying too hard.

Rodgers has four NFL MVP awards.

Now his rabbit has a bronze bust.

Full 2026 Class.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Bortles

Some fantasy football names are clever. Others are so gloriously ridiculous that they seem destined for a gold jacket from the moment they appear.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Bortles belongs in the second category.

The name takes former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles and drops him into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The substitution works beautifully, even though Bortles was neither a teenager, a mutant, a ninja nor, as far as we know, a turtle.

That’s part of the charm. During the height of the Bortles era, the name became one of fantasy football’s most memorable pop-culture mashups. It’s absurd, instantly recognizable, and still funny years after Bortles took his final NFL snap.

Cowabunga, Blake.

You’re headed to the Hall.

Geno 911

There are elaborate fantasy football names. There are names drawn from obscure song lyrics, three different players, and a reference to an episode of Seinfeld.

And then there’s Geno 911.

Geno Smith’s first name pairs almost perfectly with Reno 911!, the long-running comedy series spoofing police reality shows. Two words, one number and no explanation necessary.

Better yet, Geno Smith’s unlikely career resurgence gave the name a second life years after many fantasy managers had written him off.

The Selection Committee appreciates a good comeback story.

Geno 911, your emergency call has been answered.

Baby Got Dak

We like big puns, and we cannot lie.

Baby Got Dak takes Sir Mix-a-Lot’s unmistakable “Baby Got Back” and hands it to quarterback Dak Prescott. The result has been a fantasy football favorite throughout Prescott’s career.

That’s part of what separates Hall of Fame names from one-season wonders. Plenty of clever names arrive every August, get a few laughs and disappear before Thanksgiving.

Baby Got Dak keeps coming back.

Dak may spend Sundays trying to avoid sacks, but there was no avoiding Canton — or wherever we’re pretending this Hall is located — for this one.

Hurts So Good

Sometimes the football gods simply hand you the perfect surname.

Jalen Hurts has one.

“Hurts So Good” was already a famous phrase thanks to John Mellencamp’s 1982 hit. Add a star NFL quarterback actually named Hurts and fantasy football managers barely had to do any work.

That’s not a criticism.

Joe Montana didn’t need to throw every pass through a keyhole to prove he was great. A fantasy team name doesn’t need to be complicated either.

Hurts So Good is clean, memorable, and built to last.

For opposing fantasy managers, however, losing to a team named Hurts So Good hurts pretty badly.

Golden Tate Bridge

Occasionally, geography and fantasy football come together in perfect harmony.

Golden Tate Bridge is one of those occasions.

Former wide receiver Golden Tate had a long and productive NFL career, including a Super Bowl championship. But fantasy managers quickly discovered another important fact: his name was only one letter removed from one of America’s most famous landmarks.

Golden Tate Bridge is simple, visual, and wonderfully ridiculous.

Some fantasy names require an explanation. This one practically comes with its own postcard.

Saving Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan enjoyed a distinguished NFL career, winning an MVP award and leading Atlanta to a Super Bowl.

Fantasy managers gave him something even more enduring: Saving Matt Ryan.

The name borrows from Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan, one of the most recognizable movie titles of the past 30 years. Replace Private with Matt and you’ve got a fantasy football classic.

Ryan retired with more than 62,000 passing yards. We’re guessing he would have traded at least 14 of them for this honor.

Welcome to fantasy immortality, Matty Ice.

2026 Fantasy Football League Name Enshrinees

Individual fantasy teams shouldn’t have all the fun. A great league deserves a great name, too.

Two league names receive the Hall’s highest honor in 2026.

Discover our collection of fantasy football league names.

Game of Throws

Few television programs dominated pop culture during the rise of fantasy football quite like Game of Thrones.

And few fantasy league names have capitalized on a television title more efficiently than Game of Throws.

It works because it describes exactly what happens every NFL Sunday, while requiring only one word to be altered. It also offers commissioners almost unlimited possibilities for league graphics, trophies and draft-night themes.

Winter is coming.

So is the waiver deadline.

Game of Throws is officially Hall of Fame worthy.

Turn Down for Watt

Turn Down for Watt combines the DJ Snake and Lil Jon hit “Turn Down for What” with the surname of one of football’s most famous families.

It’s loud. It’s ridiculous. It’s unmistakably football.

In other words, it sounds exactly like a good fantasy draft.

Whether the inspiration is J.J. Watt, T.J. Watt or simply an owner who refuses to turn down anything on draft night, Turn Down for Watt has earned its place among the great league names.

The volume stays up. The banner goes up. Welcome to the Hall.

2026 Senior Committee Inductees

Every Hall of Fame needs historians willing to dig through the archives.

The Fantasy Football Team Names Hall of Fame Senior Committee exists to recognize names from earlier generations — names that might have been overlooked because they arrived before fantasy football became the enormous online phenomenon it is today.

Two veterans finally get the call in 2026.

The Griese Spoon

Bob Griese quarterbacked the Miami Dolphins during one of the greatest stretches in NFL history, including the perfect 1972 season.

His last name also sounds remarkably like “greasy.”

Enter The Griese Spoon.

It’s an old-school fantasy name with exactly the kind of corny wordplay that helped build this great pastime. Before fantasy managers had apps, instant scoring updates and 37 podcasts telling them whom to start at flex, they had pencils, newspapers and names like The Griese Spoon.

The Senior Committee remembers.

And now the Hall does, too.

Elway’s Sunny in Denver

John Elway is forever associated with Denver, where he became one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history and eventually finished his playing career with back-to-back Super Bowl victories.

Elway’s Sunny in Denver gives the Broncos legend a clever twist on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Of course, Denver receives plenty of sunshine anyway, making the joke work on another level.

A Hall of Fame quarterback inspiring a Hall of Fame fantasy name?

Seems appropriate.

Congratulations Hall of Fame Enshrinees.

Fantasy Football Team Names Hall of Fame FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions about the topic.

When was the Fantasy Football Team Names Hall of Fame established?

The Fantasy Football Team Names Hall of Fame was established in 2021. The inaugural class honored some of fantasy football’s most memorable names, including Favre Dollar Foot Long, Somewhere Over Dwayne Bowe, Flacco Seagulls, The Ertz Locker, and Victorious Secret.

What makes a fantasy football team name Hall of Fame worthy?

There is no 40-yard dash for puns.

The best names combine creativity, humor, instant recognition, and staying power. A truly great fantasy name can remain funny even years after the player who inspired it has retired.

Can retired players still have their fantasy team names inducted?

Absolutely. In fact, that’s one of the reasons for the Senior Committee. Great fantasy football names shouldn’t disappear simply because the player who inspired them hung up his cleats.

Are fantasy football league names eligible for the Hall of Fame?

Yes. The Hall recognizes great league names separately from individual fantasy team names. A clever league name can become part of a group’s identity for years, which makes the best of them worthy of enshrinement.

Does a team name have to reference an NFL player?

No. Some of the best fantasy football names have nothing to do with a specific player. If it’s clever, memorable, and connected to the fun of fantasy football, it has a shot at the Hall.

Final Thoughts on the 2026 Hall of Fame Class

There are fantasy football team names you use for a season.

Then there are names that become part of fantasy football culture.

The 2026 Fantasy Football Team Names Hall of Fame class celebrates the latter. Rollin’ With Mahomies, Kamarican Pie, Gurley Men, Who Framed Rodgers Rabbit?, Teenage Mutant Ninja Bortles, Geno 911, Baby Got Dak, Hurts So Good, Golden Tate Bridge and Saving Matt Ryan represent different NFL eras, but they share the qualities that make fantasy naming almost as much fun as fantasy football itself.

Game of Throws and Turn Down for Watt prove that commissioners deserve naming glory, too. And The Griese Spoon and Elway’s Sunny in Denver remind us that fantasy football wordplay existed long before someone invented the push notification.

So raise the banners and prepare the induction speeches.

No, these enshrinees won’t receive gold jackets.

But somewhere tonight, a fantasy manager will rename his team Rollin’ With Mahomies and laugh at the joke for approximately the 847th time.

And isn’t that what Hall of Fame greatness is all about?
